Vibrating fluid bed dryer — also known as a vibro or vibratory fluid bed dryer (VFBD). Continuous, horizontal drying and cooling for powders and granules, in standard, sanitary and GMP configurations.
Thevibrating fluid bed dryer — known in different markets as a vibro fluid bed dryer, vibratory fluid bed dryer, or vibrating fluidized bed dryer (VFBD) — dries and cools powders and granules by combining a fluidizing hot-air stream with a low-amplitude mechanical vibration. The vibration loosens the material, conveys it in continuous plug flow, and lets the bed fluidize at a lower air velocity, so the unit handles wide-particle-size, fine, sticky and fragile feeds gently and with low energy.
One machine, several configurations
- Vibrating fluid bed dryer. The core unit: continuous, horizontal drying of free-flowing and difficult-to-fluidize powders and granules.
- Vibrating fluid bed dryer and cooler. A multi-zone deck that dries and then cools in one pass, delivering product at packing temperature — widely chosen for crystalline products like salt and sugar that cake if packed warm.
- Continuous, horizontal operation. Unlike vertical batch fluid bed granulators, a vibrating fluid bed is a horizontal, continuous machine with first-in/first-out residence — suited to steady production lines.
- Standard, sanitary and GMP builds. Carbon or stainless construction for general industry; 304/316 stainless, enclosed, CIP-ready sanitary and GMP versions for food and pharmaceutical duties.
